I’ve heard of people using flat beer to rinse their hair. I’ve heard of showering to wake up from too much beer. And now I’ve heard of the beer made for your shower. Not for waking up or washing your hair, but just for enjoying some suds with your soap suds.
A noted Swedish graphic design firm SNASK has teamed with PangPang Brewery in Stockholm to create Shower Beer. The inspiration for the beer comes from the practice of drinking beer in the shower, whether coming home from work, before going out for the night, or while washing off sand from a day at the beach.
Given that SNASK is known for unusual creative concepts, it’s difficult to know if the beer is real or part of a self-promotional marketing campaign. The website is loaded with beautiful photographs of the beer.
The website also states that the beer is merely 18 centiliters, or 6 ounces, and comes in a unique pink-labeled brown bottle designed by Jens Nilson. It is also 10% alcohol by volume, twice that of a 12-ounce Budweiser. The company says it is “the perfect amount to sip while getting ready for a night out.”
The website tells the brief story of the beer’s creation from inception to completion, adding that the companies wanted to create, “something that could kickstart the night and act as your power up while fixing your hair.”
Shower Beer is said to be a sweet but strong pale ale to be downed in three or four sips while showering or “to start the night in any bar alone or with your friends.”
The first batch sold out. The second batch, they say, is coming soon.
In the meantime, there is always Bud and Corona.
