High School Playbook: York Institute Earns Double-Bye After Solid Regular Season

All five York Institute starters receive recognition and earn district honors.

Every week on The High School Playbook, we break down high school games from around the Upper Cumberland. The White County Warriorettes have punched their ticket to the region tournament, after a win that Head Coach Michael Dodgen said was the first one he’d seen in weeks where he thought his team was having fun. The York Institute Dragons earned a double-bye after a solid regular season that saw all five starters on their team earn district honors. While he sees them everyday in practice Head Coach Russell Tays likes that other coaches also give them that recognition. The DeKalb County Tigers had three players earn all-district honors, and Head Coach John Sanders was appreciative of the fact that their hard work was rewarded by other coaches. Hear from their head coaches and more as we talk Upper Cumberland high school basketball on this week’s High School Playbook.
