Navy apologies for destroying Alaska Native village in 1882

The U.S. Navy issued an apology Saturday for destroying an Alaska Native village nearly 150 years ago. The 1882 attack in Angoon killed six children and caused such dire food shortages that villagers starved themselves so children could eat. Source
