Elizabeth McGovern on why fans are nostalgic for the world of “Downton Abbey”

The highly-anticipated “Downton Abbey” movie, based on the Emmy-winning hit series about the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants, is being called “delightful fun.” The film is set in 1927, and centers around the family and staff preparing for a royal visit from the King and Queen of England. Oscar-nominated actress Elizabeth McGovern appears in the film as Cora Crawley, an American heiress who married the Earl of Grantham, Robert Crawley. McGovern joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss the film. Source

Scientific breakthrough may eventually allow many blind people to see

A new scientific breakthrough called the “Orion” may eventually allow many blind people to see. Using a camera attached to a pair of sunglasses, Orion captures images a person would see and sends it through a handheld device to an implant that’s been surgically inserted into the visual part of the brain. The implant then turns those images into dots of light that the patient can see. Jonathan Vigliotti reports on one patient who tested the technology. Source

Saudi Arabia ramps up security after oil facility attack

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Wednesday that the country is beefing up security in the air and in the water, just hours before officials are expected to directly place blame on Iran for an attack on oil facilities. To make sure an attack like this doesn’t happen again, Saudi Arabia has joined a U.S.-backed force to protect vital shipping lanes and oil facilities, while asking South Korea to help bolster air defenses. Former FBI agent offers inside look at Trump’s relationship with James Comey

Josh Campbell served as special assistant to former FBI Director James Comey, and was with Comey the day President Trump fired him. The former special agent details his experiences in a new book, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at the beginnings of the FBI investigation into Russian election meddling. It’s called, “Crossfire Hurricane: Inside Donald Trump’s War on the FBI.” Campbell joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss his new book. Source

Democratic donor arrested after multiple men overdose in his home

A prominent Democratic donor is accused of running a drug den out of his Southern California home. Ed Buck is being held on $4 million bail after his arrest overnight. Two men have died in his West Hollywood home from apparent overdoses since 2017. A third man survived an overdose last week. Nikki Battiste reports. Source
