Elizabeth Gilbert’s 2006 memoir “Eat, Pray, Love” sold millions of copies worldwide and was adapted into a movie of the same name starring Julia Roberts. Gilbert’s newest novel, “City of Girls,” explores the life of a young woman coming of age in New York City’s glamorous, and sometimes scandalous, theater world in the 1940s.
