GM recalls nearly 3.5 million trucks & SUVs over issues with braking systems

Under pressure from the federal government, General Motors is recalling more than 3.4 million big pickup trucks and SUVs in the U.S to fix a brake problem. The recall covers the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups from the 2014 through 2018 model years. Also included are the Cadillac Escalade from 2015 to 2017, and the GMC Yukon and Chevy Suburban and Tahoe from 2015 through 2018. Source

American oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens has died at age 91

T. Boone Pickens, a brash and quotable oil tycoon who grew even wealthier through corporate takeover attempts, died Wednesday at age 91. Pickens suffered a series of strokes in 2017 and was hospitalized that July after what he called a “Texas-sized fall.” Source

Cherokee Nation names first delegate to Congress

The Cherokee Nation has named its first delegate to congress. Kimberly Teehee served President Obama as the first-ever Senior Policy Advisor for Native American Affairs. She is currently the Vice President of Government Relations for Cherokee Nation Businesses and Director of Government Relations for Cherokee Nation.
