Attorneys Dawn Fry & Tecia Puckett Pryor talk developmental disabilities & jobs.
Over the next few weeks, hundreds of Walmart greeters nationwide will lose their jobs as the company retools a position that dates back to the origins of Walmart. Some job advocates have worried that the move could adversely affect men and women with disabilities who hold many of the greeter positions at stores. On the other hand, other advocates say today’s working environment for those with disabilities continues to expand far beyond jobs like a greeter. For an overview, we turn to two who represent the Upper Cumberland on Tennessee’s Council on Developmental Disabilities. Dawn Fry is a Cookeville attorney. Smithville attorney, Tecia Puckett Pryor, chairs the Council.
