Jackson County girls Head Coach Jim Brown and players join live from Chick-fil-A, Interstate Drive in Cookeville. York Institute boys Head Coach Russell Tays discusses the huge home court advantage his team has in Jamestown. Cookeville boys Head Coach Josh Heard is seeing better offensive play after a new practice schedule, while White County girls Head Coach Michael Dodgen is looking for more consistency from his team. Today In The Upper Cumberland: Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network

Brenda Harper and Kristi Paling discuss the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network

In 1998, a Memphis psychiatrist began a campaign to focus on the prevention of suicide. That group would become the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network. TSPN works across the state to reduce the stigma of suicide by providing facts, and debunking myths. By extension, the hope is the impact of suicide is decreased across our state. The Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, and its Upper Cumberland group, are spending a lot of time currently examining teen suicide, and its alarming rise. Brenda Harper and Kristi Paling join us this week.

Today In The Upper Cumberland airs each weekend as a way to introduce you to interesting people and subjects of interest to our community. Catch the show each Saturday morning at 6 on Rock 93-7, 106-9 Kicks Country, and at 8 on Lite Rock 95.9.
