Every week on The High School Playbook, we break down high school games from around the Upper Cumberland. The Upper Cumberland football season comes to an end as South Pittsburgh wins over Gordonsville, and DeKalb County falls to Nolensville 42-6 in the state playoffs. Turning our attention to basketball, we’re joined live by the head coaches and players of Van Buren County, DeKalb County, and York Institute to preview the upcoming girls basketball season across the Upper Cumberland. Hear from their coaches and more as we tip off the girls basketball season on this week’s High School Playbook.

Today In The Upper Cumberland: Parenting

Members of The Stephens Center discuss parenting Today In The Upper Cumberland.

You hear it so often – “If only my kids came with instructions.” Parenting, it’s always been a challenge, but today, that challenge seems more daunting than ever. Kids face different things in every day life, but so do you. We examine parenting as we approach a new decade, and we get help from The Stephens Center. In its work to prevent child abuse across the Upper Cumberland, 30 years of doing that, The Stephens Center teaches parenting classes and works daily to help parents meet the challenges. Dawn Raines serves as Executive Director of The Stephens Center. Working alongside Dawn are Lisa McAfee and Carla Thompson.

Today In The Upper Cumberland airs each weekend as a way to introduce you to interesting people and subjects of interest to our community. Catch the show each Saturday morning at 6 on Rock 93-7, 106-9 Kicks Country, and at 8 on Lite Rock 95.9.
