Today In The Upper Cumberland: ADHD Support

Avery Trace Middle School’s Jaida Campbell talks supporting children with ADHD.

More than 6 million young people nationwide live with ADHD. More and more we are meeting the challenges of ADHD head on with strong diagnoses, and more and more parents understand that a prescription does not have to be the only answer for a diagnosis. Over the last 2 years, parents across out community have come together to help one another be better parents of ADHD children – to vent, to learn, to support one another. Avery Trace Middle School’s Jaida Campbell leads that effort. You can learn more about ADHD and ADD at ADDitudemag.Com or CHADD.Org. The next meeting of the local Parent2Parent Support Group takes place September 30 at Noon at Avery Trace School.

Upperman falls to undefeated Livingston Academ; Cookeville wins their first game

Every week on The High School Playbook, we break down high school games from around the Upper Cumberland. Two undefeated Upper Cumberland teams went head to head Friday night with Upperman falling to Livingston Academy 10-7. Livingston Academy Head Coach Bruce Lamb discusses the challenges of last night’s game, and the plays that led the Wildcats to victory over the Bees. Meanwhile, Cookeville adds their first “W” of the season to the books with a big win over White County 42-12. We also hear from Monterey, Jackson County, and DeKalb County head coaches this week on the High School Playbook.
