Band:  Few Miles On

Genre: Blues/Swunk/Southern Blues Groove

Making a categories of music all their own. Few Miles On had a little of that southern rock with funk feel to their music which has taken a more blues driven direction.  They also have a lot of fun just making some songs together. With some singles under their belt, they’ve completed their album and are now spurring other bands to get out and try things with a weekly show wednesday nights in Cookeville that are open to anyone to join in and jam. Band: Today’s Standard

Genre: Alternative/Punk

These guys would be your C Connection, and while all members have a C in their names, it’s not a requirement for getting into their music. As they say about themselves “This band is made up of three different people who live three completely different lives, and once you put them together they produce a very unique sound tone and show!” With musical influences ranging from punk to alternative they have been working hard to get their sound togethor and their first album. Band:  The Leave

Genre: Jazz/Funk/Fusion

A collection of personalities that not only fit together as extended family but musically to offer a style of Jazz that goes from fusion to rock influences that shine through in their live performances.  With each member and their instrument offering as much in the song writing as they do on stage.  The members call Cookeville home and perform in surrounding venues and festivals. Band:  Miles Of Dirt

Genre: Rock/Modern Rock

Matt Baughman and his writing partner Dan Lawless continue their collaboration of music making even though they are separated by Miles Of Dirt.  While Matt calls Cookeville home, Dan resides in California. The duo employee apps like dropbox, and pro-tools, and video calling to work together in making their music.  While it limits their live performance options due to their separation, their music has only continued to grow into a bigger project. Band:  Liars Chair

Genre: Rock/Hard Rock

Ben Owens has sang for a band or two, and while that passion for singing has always been present, it’s really shown in his work with the members in Liars Chair. Mainly doing covers and tribute style shows, Ben and the other members have begun to wrok towards original material that reflects them and the music they love. Band:  Rusty Rooster

Genre: Southern Rock/Rock

Two Guys who had a band that went from a few members to two and then up to three when Lyndon met his wife and eventual bassist Patty. Billy does the guitar and vocals and after realizing they could use Patty to round out the band, their sound comes together to form a unique one that reflects a love for the southern and classic rock styles with a country flare. They perform mainly around their Jamestown home and keeps people informed online here.

Band: Ted Monday

Genre: Traditional Country

Ted started by singing some tracks and the disc he put those songs on landed in the hands of a producer.  That’s opened the door for Ted to perform more tracks and to help shape a sound that reflects his love for country that’s more in the 80’s style of the genre. Ted spends his days working and finding time to perform when he can. Details on his first album can be found here.

Band: 5 Stories

Genre: Hard Rock/Metal

Calling Jackson Tennessee home, 5 Stories are slowly spreading out from where they started and spreading their music and love of it with any who’ll listen. With hard hitting tracks like Contagious, they’ve also helped other get going by starting the West Tennessee Musicians group on Facebook. Find out more about them here.

Band: Hunter Lovan/Chris Love

Genre: Metal/Rock/Alternative

Hunter Lovan was originally a founding member of one of the youngest bands to air on the Local Edition, 8 Faces who have since disbanded. Hunter works with Chris on this collaboration and is currently performing with Vampire Bleach Bomb. Chris Love maintains a production studio that handles some acts across middle Tennessee.
