The Impact Of Organ Donation
More and more Upper Cumberland residents are signing up to donate organs. They are gifts that can change a person’s life. We bring you both sides of the story, those who have been donors and those that have received donations on Today In The Upper Cumberland. We speak with Deborah Kitz and Billy Jarvis. Deborah Kitz is a donor mother and served on the Tennessee Donor Services Advisory Board.
Billy Jarvis is a public relations coordinator for Tennessee Donor Services and he received a kidney in 1991.

A school project about understanding organ donation that was filled with personal experience and eventually turned into a published book. Veterans in Tennessee face high PTSD numbers while many struggle to maintain housing and work stability. Inspired by the kindness and support received by fellow veterans after having been diagnosed with PTSD, Josh Pack, founded Community For Heroes.
Community For Heroes aims to make the recovery and therapy processes as easy and accessible as possible by rehabilitating veterans, and bringing veterans back into the community. We are joined by Josh this week as he discusses the issues that veterans face with PTSD and suicide, and how Community For Heroes is giving back to the community by supporting our veterans.
