The Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth released its annual report this week detailing the trends in the state of the child in the state of Tennessee. One part of that – 1 in 3 high school girls said they had gone without eating for 24 hours or more, taken diet pills, powders, or liquids, or reported vomiting taking laxatives, or skipping meals to lose weight. We talk about that with Melissa Spaulding, a licensed professional counselor.

It’s called the Education Freedom Scholarship Act – Governor Bill Lee proposing to take the voucher program statewide giving up to 20,000 students in K-12 the chance to get taxpayer money to attend a private or home school. Local educators believe it’s not the best option.
